Can We Talk?

Home / Late night thoughts / Can We Talk?

I want to watch you sleep every night.

I want to stay awake with you, when you’re sleepless, questioning life and love and theorizing about happiness, whether it existed or not, doubting the beauty of life and the purpose of our existence.

I want to lie by your side, when you’re sick and in a rut, when your fever is running high and you’re struggling to keep yourself together.

I want to see you wake up every morning.

I want to watch you pull the covers back on your face grumbling about leaving for work, complaining about the corporate system and how it sucks your soul. I want to stop you at the door, straighten your tie and give you your cup of coffee.

I want to see you pursue your dreams, to watch you fighting to change this cruel world we live in, to leave your mark, to set a new vision around you.

I want to sit down with you in the corner of our favorite coffee shop, talk about everything, or nothing at all; of important stuff and nonsense, about the rain, about books, your mismatched socks and my rebellious hair, about what you had for lunch that day, and the world’s financial crisis.

I want to see you, because you made me see.

I want to help you seize the world, because you gave me mine.
