“I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.”

Alfred Lord Tennyson

I’ve heard it many times before, they say it is better to have loved and lost than to never to have loved at all. I never suspected this to be true until recently, where I had to lose love for me to realize that love is too valuable and a source of joy and enrichment.

With all my might, I broke my fear, jumped deep in the ocean of love and I dived. I gave it all until I was out of breath. I let it consume me and was more than welcoming to all its currents and waves, all its ups and downs, chest opened ready for all the blows of pain, a keen enthusiasm to find my Atlantis, my everlasting love.

I dived until it drove me away to the shores of my lonesome island. I rose to my feet, stood tall, my chin high, looking at the bright skies above, engulfed by the rays of sun kissing my skin, warming my shivering bones and stone cold heart.

Yes, like many others, I have loved and lost, but love is a most splendid thing. One can never survive without love; naturally you would lose sometimes “C’est la vie!”, Do it anyway! Lose yourself, go for the kill, it’s definitely worth it.
